The recipient of this award will be a professional broker member of NAMB chosen from a list of nominees from the general membership. From the nominees, the Awards Committee will choose a list of finalists, irrespective of region, so as not to eliminate the best-qualified candidate. The finalists will participate in the oral interview phase of the competition to be held at or prior to the annual convention, with the winner named at the convention. Current NAMB President, President-Elect and NAMB Past Presidents are ineligible for the Broker of the Year Award. The criteria for selection of the winner will be as follows:
§ Proficiency as a mortgage broker as demonstrated by the Nominee's success in the mortgage brokerage industry through their outstanding participation and profile within the industry. Their profile will include a broad breadth of scope of product & experience, a high level of expertise of the industry and their embracing of the NAMB Code of Ethics, which has gained them the respect of both peers and their customer base.
§ Participation in local, state and national associations demonstrating their commitment to promotion and enhancement of the mortgage brokerage industry
§ Designation (CRMS/CMC)
§ Involvement in their local community with emphasis on housing-related activities
§ Possible oral interview to evaluate the nominee’s ability to represent the industry as a spokesman and to validate the written presentation of their credentials.
Once all nominations are received, each nominee for this award will be asked to provide the following:
A one-page resume (if available)
One page (limit of 8 ˝” x 11”) that provides a response to each of the following statements. Each response should be approximately 50 words and will be individually graded by the committee and tabulated for the highest score. Responses hold a maximum of 20 points to each statement.
· Briefly describe your achievements and accomplishments.
· Briefly comment on your leadership skills and knowledge.
· Briefly describe how your achievements and accomplishments have benefited or improved the status of NAMB members.
· Briefly describe your character and why you believe you qualify for this award.
· Briefly describe what would it mean to you to be named “NAMB Broker of the Year.”
