The Lending Integrity Seal of Approval represents the highest standard of integrity in the lending business. Mortgage professionals who display it have completed a validation process and meet NAMB's national standard for ethics, professionalism, and service.
Who can apply to display the Lending Integrity Seal of Approval?
Only state-licensed loan originators who are in good standing; have a current Lending Integrity Professional NAMB membership are eligible to display the Seal.
What is the benefit of the Lending Integrity Seal of Approval?
The Seal sends a clear message. It sets the professionals who display it apart from other originators and gives the public an instant signal of how that person conducts business.
How do the requirements for the Seal differ from Certification?
The Seal requires state-licensed loan originators to meet the NMLS standards of licensure that include an annual background check, continuing education, and a pledge to follow NAMB's ethics policies and business practice standards. Certification is different. It focuses on professional development and requires passing a written exam and meeting experience and knowledge requirements in mortgage origination.
Do you have to be certified to obtain the Seal?
No, certification isn't required. But NAMB members with a current Certified Mortgage Consultant (CMC) or Certified Residential Mortgage Specialist (CRMS) designation automatically satisfy the Seal's education requirement through the professional education they complete to maintain those designations.
What is the cost of the Lending Integrity Seal of Approval?
There's no fee to display the Seal or use NAMB's related materials. Lending Integrity Professional Members pay dues to NAMB.
